Lets get practical, what can we do?

In practical terms, certain things need to get done before individuals feel part of the climate reduction program. So here are my thoughts.

1. Villages and small towns, say upto 10,000 residents, should be allowed, by law, to create, and sell their own electricity to the local people. This could be generated by what ever means, wind, solar, geo-thermal, biomass. This micro-generation would be owned and run by the people for the people. Any surplus could be sold to the electricity companies. I know of 1 or 2 small communities in Germany that do this. This could create a great deal of local suppliers and new employment.

2. The Patent Office records should be checked, for any patents that block new ideas, and or solutions held by oil, gas, coal or sceptics. There are so many ideas still to be used, this applies worldwide.

3. One way to get countries willingly to make changes, because there is money in it for them, is on my Blog at Climate Comments.

4. Another idea is "Bio Char" you could see what is available and how it works at the Bio Char page.

Now, here's a thought. Coal and Patents

We have been burning coal for the last few hundred years to release it's energy as a form of heat. Naturally this releases CO2 into the atmosphere and many other pollutants as well.

Just a thought for all the scientists, cannot the energy in coal be unlocked in a more modern way?, I heard somewhere that microwaving it can do something.

As the world seeks more and more energy, how many patents are held by oil, coal and gas companies that are locked away to safeguard their existing investments? Maybe governments can search the Patent Departments in their country and unlock the Patent for the Global good.

Remember the Cree Prophecy:
Only after the last tree has been cut down,
Only after the last river has been poisoned,
Only after the last fish has been caught,
Then you will find that money cannot be eaten.

Top 20 Companies. Is your firm listed?

Always useful to know how companies stand when it come to Climate Change. If your firm is not listed, ask if they have a "Climate Change or Environmental" Manager. Every company above a certain size should have one as their salary can often be covered by pollution and energy savings.

Have you heard about the destruction of West Papua?

What can I say, you have to read this article and then take appropiate action.  Up for Grabs The more people read what is going on in the world, the more chance there is to ask questions and push politicians into action.
Here is the direct link to the Up for Grabs pdf file. If you do anything today, read this.
